
Sara Galac graduated from the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1993. After gaining some experience in private practice, she completed an internship at the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht. Thereafter she returned to Slovenia and was employed at the University Clinic for Small Animals in Ljubljana until 2001. During this period she accomplished a PhD thesis about the use of a progesterone receptor antagonist in dogs. After successful defense of the thesis in Slovenia she traveled back to The Netherlands to start a residency in companion animal internal medicine (2001-2004) at the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht. In 2010 she completed her second PhD thesis entitled Recent developments in canine Cushing`s syndrome. She is currently a staff member of the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht and specializes in endocrine problems of companion animals.
